Pretty cool 3D lower level AI simulator. There is a food chain. The low creatures eat the stationary food, the high creatures eat the low creatures. Once a pair ‘mates’, the mother carries eggs with her for a while. Once a counter is reached, the eggs hatch. This counter varries with genetics. When a pair mates, the child’s DNA is composed of 40% mother’s genes, 40% father’s and 20% random. The genes contain information that controls the creatures behavior. This behavior works like Maslow’s heirarchy of needs. There are 4 states, Look For Food, Look For Mate, Run Away, Roam Around. Genes contain a priority for each state. A creature will not do a priority 2 state if the requirements for priority 1 are not satisfied. These tolerances for these requirements are also contained in the genes.

myFire:

I found this code compiled as a java applet on a website… i decompiled the applet with JAD and transferred it over to C++. This uses the same technique as the Fireworks code (http://www.planetsourcecode.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=6331&lngWId=3) i submitted last month. This is a really easy way to create a nice looking fire effect to add to your apps… maybe the about menu or something. Anyway, this uses CreateDibSection() and SetDIBitsToDevice() to create this nice flicker-free effect. Play with the settings, you can make diffrent basic effects. Original java source code included…

This is wannabe-demo.it’s done in opengl using GLUT with c (compiled on windows machine using VC++6).3d earth rotating around the sun and the stars are shining and there is also some alien spaceship and xfiles music.It shows the basics of OpenGL(glut,user input,sphere mapping,playing music,lighting).it’s really basic code and everyone should understand it.I used .raw textures, because they are easy to handle and easy to understand for beginners. ssk,comment,vote

matrix : hi ! This is my version of the matrix effect in 3D (the falling characters) I previously submited an other version coded in visual basic (Matrix Fall 3D). I thought it would be a good idea to make the jump from vb to c++ while attempting to do the same in c++ The code is entirely commented (in french, sorry for the others…) It uses “libpng” and “zlib” but you don’t need to have them installed. All the source code of these libs are included in the archive. This code demonstrates how to : create a window, use OpenGl, load textures from PNG and BMP directly to opengl, create basics geometry and use texture coordinate easily, use display list, use billboarding, make a basic animation engine, use the camera, create classes, … The complete rar is also available from wy website : http://www.open-design.be/dev/Matrix Fall X source.rar
